Mariposa Polo Club takes pride in affordable weekend practice chukkers.
We are excited to welcome new members who are ready to learn to play and compete in the most invigorating sport on horseback.
ABOUT US
The Mariposa Polo Club began in 1985, with a group of teachers, farmers and cowboys, playing in a cow pasture. In 1989 they acquired the right to play on the Country Club driving range; currently where McDonald's, Taco Bell, and Subway are now. In 1996 The Mariposa Polo Club relocated to its present location. The Mariposa Polo Club regularly competed against teams from Colorado Springs, Denver, Wichita, Kansas City, Tulsa, and Dallas/Fort Worth.
The Mariposa Polo Club is family oriented introducing nearly 100 people to polo, producing one two goal professional polo player.
History
Polo is considered among the oldest organized sports ever played and was first introduced in the United States by way of England in 1876. It didn’t take long for America to take a liking to this game and assemble their own loosely structured matches.
